Christmas comes to life with the Windsbacher Knabenchor who record J.S. Bach’s much-loved Christmas Oratorio with Sony Classical. Conducted by renowned German conductors Karl-Friedrich Behringer and Martin Lehmann (who succeeded Behringer as the conductor of the Windsbacher Knabenchor in 2012), this 2 CD release realizes one of Bach’s most famous choral works for the festive season. Composed for the Christmas of 1734, the oratorio is in 6 parts (see below) with each being intended for performance on one of the feast days during the Christmas period.
