When Ollie's wife has an affair behind his back, her lover is caught and flogged by Count Arnheim's guards. As an act of revenge, she then kidnaps the Count's daughter, Arline (Julie Bishop), only to run away with her lover shortly afterwards. 12 years later the gypsies are back in the area surrounding Count Arnheim's palace, and Arline, unaware of her true parentage, ventures into the Count's castle...
