Bruce Forsyth achieved fame primarily as a television presenter and comedian – as well as a bona fide national treasure. If you’d have asked the man himself what he was though, he may well have plumped for ‘song and dance man’. Music was incredibly important to Bruce, not least because it was his way in to show business. He first appeared on stage, aged 14, singing and accompanying himself on the accordion (billed as ‘Boy Bruce, the Mighty Atom’).It was at the height of his first spell as Mr Saturday Night that ‘The Bruce Forsyth Album’ was released, featuring versions of standards including ‘All I Want’, ‘Sing Baby Sing’ and ‘They Call It Love’. He had also released other albums such as ‘Mister Entertainment’, later remastered and repackaged into ‘Mr Entertainment’. His last album ‘These Are My Favourites’ was his most successful album in 2011, which included songs that meant the most to him. This release features Bruce’s finest music taken from all three albums and presented as one complete best of.
