This six-CD set comprises all the major chamber works composed by this most poetic of Romantic composers. They date from his ‘chamber music year’, 1842, as well as from 1847, 1849 and 1851-53. These performances, drawn from the distinguished Erato catalogue, were recorded at the Église Notre-Dame du Liban in Paris in 1987 by some of the greatest French musicians of the day.
