Moussu T e lei Jovents are by now well known to UK audiences. Five albums (all on Le Chant du Monde), several visits for tours, gigs and festivals (including Womad, Wychwood and Celtic Connections), front covers of both fROOTS and Songlines, and plentiful praise in the pages of the popular press... This new release is the band's first live album and it includes 15 of their most popular ditties, recorded in June 2011 at the Festival Nuits Métis in Miramas. The musicians include original members (and also formerly of Massilia Sound System) Tatou and Blu on strings and things, with Déli K on percussion and Denis on drums (no extraneous appellations here). Their music draws on a nostalgic whiff of old Marseille and more than a hint of the New World as was, (blues and jazz, Caribbean and Brazilian music). Their repertoire reflects the Occitan shoreline between Marseille and their hometown of La Ciotat.
