The key innovation is same-time play, which allows every player to move at once, so there's never a dull moment. But there are also a few different themes to play around with to make things more interesting, or to tailor the aesthetic to your own whims. If you want to play on another planet, then go there. If you want to surround yourself with prehistoric animals and maybe put some property down on Dinosaur Drive, then you can.
